One year ago, I was the fourth person in the U.S. to be injected with these very cells, the first to receive 100,000 of them (previous participants had received 50,000), and the first to be enrolled and treated at the Wills Eye Institute in Philadelphia. It was all very exciting (and still is!) as this trial and other Stargardt and AMD trials unfold. Here is my year in review . . .
