Impact on My Life:
Initially, huge. I
quit driving in '93. Now, an inconvenience - especially as regards
transportation and reading.
Positive Effects:
I look great in the
mirror with that soft focus, and my friends are getting younger.
Greatly improved awareness of sound, making it difficult for people
to sneak things by me. Meeting a lot of interesting people while
hitchhiking to and from work. I can walk the legs off a Missouri
Mule. I laugh at myself more. I never would have met the people on
this list, so it's not such a bad trade.
Adaptations:
Magnifiers, lighting
improvements, organization of house and work environment, doing as
much as possible by touch.
Working:
Freehand and computer
graphics and typesetting for t-shirt shop, freelance artwork, coin
carving. Occasional gig as 'Guest Chef'.
More About Me:
Enough,
already.
