Vision
I had 3 PDT treatments with little visual improvement in the long term. The 2 Avastin treatments I later receved were successful in stopping the leakage of fluid to date, and my vision has returned from 20/100 to 20/30.
Family History
Mother is myopic with macular degeneration; sister is myopic; father and brothers are not.
Impact on My Life
Both the unpredictability of this eye condition and the unpredictability of future treatments (antiangiogenics, gene therapy, stem cells) has forced me to live in the moment.
