20/60 left eye

Treatment
Lucentis injection in left eye and laser surgery - avastin injections in right eye. This week, avastin injections in both eyes.

Prognosis
Advanced wet MD in right eye and moderate wet MD in left eye. Doctor has not given me a prognosis. Trying to keep what vision I have.

Family History
My father and his brother had wet MD in the late 60's or early 70's. No treatment was available at that time.

Impact On Your Life
It has had a devasting impact upon my life, as I am presently caring for my critically ill husband.

Positive Effects
I am just thankful for the vision I do have. It could be worse.

Adaptations
Mostly driving. I try to drive when the traffic is light. I park so that I can pull forward out of the parking space, rather than having to back out. Also, I can drive much better on cloudy days. I love to read, and I bought a Kindle, which helps greatly.

Employment
I am a retired legal secretary.

More About Me
I have a son and daughter and three grandchildren. My first husband is deceased, and my present husband and I have no children. He is a retired attorney and presently very ill.
