We've traced both sides of my family tree as far as we can, and no one has had macular degeneration of any kind.
Impact on My Life
I've had it for so long I've really gotten used to it. I can't drive, but I live near the downtown area, so am able to walk almost anywhere I need to go. I rely on family a lot as well.
Positive Effects
The state paidd for my tuition during college and has assisted me with various vision aids.
Adaptations
Mostly social -- having to explain to people why it is that I may not recognize them or why I have to hold things so close to read.
Working
Currently employed -- computer technician/help desk.
More About Me
I'm trying to relocate to Minneapolis (not a fan of the South).
