Photo Dynamic Therapy, hot laser and cold laser treatment. Recent years with Avastin injections.
Prognosis or Current State of
Vision
No central vision in left eye, limited vision in right eye. Degeneration has been stable for approx. one year.
Family History
Mother claimed she could not see very well. Undiagnosed.
Paternal aunt lost most of her vision as she aged.
Impact on My Life
Loss of independence in being unable to drive a car, but accepting the need to change and adapt to new ways of managing the situations I face daily.
Positive Effects
Learning how to accept and deal with a disability, and helping others who have been afflicted with low vision issues.
Employment
I am retired.
More About Me
I am married to a very supportive and encouraging husband. Married for 55 years, we have 4 children, 8 grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren. I play piano, have done Family genealogy for over 40 years, and enjoy creating new greeting cards from recycled, used greeting cards. I enjoy interacting with others, belonging to two local discussion groups and church activities.
