Prognosis or Current State of
Vision
As of 2012, am still working and driving, however this last year have seen significant decline in my ability to see. Very frustrating at work, cannot read quickly anymore, and I am an accountant. Am now age 59, and thankful for the years I have been able to see well enough to drive. It is getting difficult, though.
Family History
Ha! They all thought it was just me! Turns out that half of my grandmother's large family has it. Though only one aunt, age 78, has advanced like me. The others all have early or intermediate. Most of them found out when Dr. Zhang came over and examined everyone. Dr. Zhang said mine is advanced at early age because of smoking like a Banchee (which I quit!)
Impact on My Life
Lots of worry. I'm a worrier by nature, though.
Positive Effects
Am more concerned about others.
Adaptations
Have lots of extra light at work. Reading glasses. Drive carefully. Xeon lights for night.
Working
CPA. Work for Federal Government. Hope to make it 8 more years, my retirement age is 60.
More About Me
Have two beautiful (I mean drop dead gorgeous) daughters, the loves of my life. Not to mention a drop dead gorgeous 9 yr. old granddaughter (looks like Paris Hilton). Am on 3rd husband, my favorite so far. I'm his 4th wife, ha! Am crazy about my babies, Honey (Golden Retriever) and Dolly (5 lb. Pomeranian), am really into my flowers (daylilies in every color), live on a lake, and go boat-riding a lot.
