20/150 (probably worse since I have had additional bleeding
recently).
Treatment
Laser in March 2000, when first diagnosed. PDT in October 2000 and
again in January 2001.
Prognosis or Current State of
Vision
Hopefully, this last PDT has stopped the leakage.
Family History
Mother had dry macular degeneration in her mid 80's and, combined
with diabetic retinopathy, led to blindness by the time she was 90.
She died at age 93. Maternal great aunt had dry MD.
Impact on My Life
At the present time most of the negative impact on my life has
been irritation. I am an artist and grow agitated when I am unable
to "see" as I was able to do just a year ago when I had excellent
eyesight- 20-30 in each eye and wore glasses only for reading.
However, I soldier on for my work is very important to me. My
husband has dementia, so I am unable to rely upon him for
help.
